| A few words about your host, the Photographer . . . |
| Greetings, guests! And welcome to my site! I hope you've been enjoying a look around the many galleries and have perhaps visited the extras section (where lie many goodies in wait!). My name is Bethany Lerie, and I am a 30-something year old student of life, artist, lover of all things fine and real, mother and friend. My journey into photography as art began 5 years ago, right before embarking on a trip into a basic black and white photography college course. My instructor was kind enough to view some samples of my initial work and proclaimed that I had a "unique gothic vision." This thrilled me, and so the quest for victims . . uh, I mean volunteers began. Most of the models are friends of my teenaged daughter (the stunning blond in white), and they were most anxious to help me realize my vision, as were many of my friends (and their friends!). I owe them all more than they'll ever know. The galleries are for them as well as for me; it is my opus, and dedicated gratefully to all of them! All of my life, I have been fascinated with the unseen, the barely glimpsed, and the phantastic! With my photography, I try to capture the essence of what the Victorians imagined ~ the links between the imagined and the elusive realm of death. Theirs was a time of uncertainty, when science and faith clashed violently. The search for the truth of death and the veil that lies betwixt left behind a legacy of nearly morbid musings, paintings, and literature. This is my vision: to create in reality what they only imagined! Enjoy! |

| ~~ photographer is based in Rock Springs, WY~~ My work is strictly free-lance, mostly for the sake of my own artist vision; I am, however, available to do contract work in and around the Wyoming area (and the SLC, UT area as it is only 3 hours away). Travel further than that is restricted currently due to circumstances beyond my control, but hopefully I'll be able to "expand my sphere" sometime in the near future! I am willing to adapt the photos to the client's vision/requirements, and have done specialized photography (which, due to various factors, I am unable to show-case on this site) in the recent past. My medium is both high-res digital and traditional 35mm film, all resulting photos are transferred to CDROM for the client and the models. I am very flexible about location, though I tend to prefer natural settings for both the ambience and the textures that result. All of my models are volunteers, and are repaid for their time and patience with a copy of all photos they request on digital format (cdrom). I am always looking for new volunteers; males are especially scarce! I have an extensive prop collection, and am very adept with make-up, though many of my models are members of the genre themselves, and need no help from me! This is not something that I pursue lightly, and I only invest time in serious models.
